A nonprofit organization to improve health & education

We Help the Underserved and the Most Deserving in Pakistan

Bali Memorial Trust is a well known charitable organization. It has been involved with operating and managing medical dispensaries (pharmacies), schools, hospitals, shelter for girls, homes for the elderly and a help line in Lahore, the second largest city in Pakistan.

Bali Memorial Trust is a private charitable NGO, run entirely on Zakat and donations, with a mission to provide assistance and support to the needy people in our community. Bali Memorial Trust has been working for the last ten years in the following areas:


EDUCATION: Two matriculation level schools imparting quality education with computers and technical training, absolutely free. Books and uniforms are provided free of charge.

Scholarships and stipends for the needy students are available.

 SHELTER FOR GIRLS:  A shelter for girls in crises, in Defence Housing Authority, has been fully operational for last two years. It houses 50 girls with all the residential and educational facilities. Right now, we are running over capacity and the construction of another shelter is underway.

HEALTH CARE:     

Two Gyne hospitals for poor patients, including surgeries.

23 free dispensaries operating in the low-income areas of Lahore, treating 2000 patients, daily.

So far, 325 cornea replacement surgeries for the blind have been successfully undertaken. Free of cost.

In collaboration with the Punjab govt., we are facilitating treatment of T.B patients, at various  centers in LahoreLimb replacement and other medical services to the disabled persons.

  • Providing free/subsidized medical care facilities including surgeries, hepatitis and T.B treatment, to needy patients at various hospitals.
  • FLOODS & EARTHQUAKE RELIEF & REHABILITATION : A 135 bed hospital was established and managed by BMT in Islamabad, after the earthquake in 2005. Also provided food, tents, bedding, clothing and other necessities to families of the patients.
  • In collaboration with other NGOs, ran a paraplegic center in Lahore for the female paralyzed victims of the earthquake.
  • Supported 2500 families from OCT 2005 to APR 2006.
  • Helped build 747 houses in the village named Sialkot, near Thandiani.
  • Sent 73 truckloads of medicines, tents, bedding, clothing etc.
  • Provided relief to the 2008 Baluchistan earthquake affectees. 22 truckloads of food, beddings, medicines and other essentials, were sent by BMT.

150 houses were built at Ziarat by BMT. The construction was handled by UN HABITAT.

WORKED FOR IDP’S AND VICTIMS OF TERRORISM: Adopted 9 school camps and host families in Mardan during the IDP crisis in 2009.

Donated 6 ambulances for the medical needs of the IDP’S.

Supported the families of the blast victims of FIA building, Lahore,2008.


HELP LINE

A professionally managed Helpline networking with other NGOs and catering to all kinds of needs of our community. Our office is located in Liberty market and is open 9am to 5pm (phone 5784500-2)

In the last six months, Help Line office has registered and supported more than 1,000 people, in various types of cases

 

Home for Elderly:  Our latest addition is The Senior peoples home in Shadman, Lahore. It houses 18 old women at the moment. It provides residential and medical facilities to the senior citizens who have nobody to look after them.
