Bali Memorial Trust

Bali Memorial Trust is a well known charitable organization. It has been involved with operating and managing medical dispensaries (pharmacies), schools, hospitals, shelter for girls, homes for the elderly and a help line in Lahore, the second largest city in Pakistan.

Bali Memorial Trust is a private charitable NGO, run entirely on Zakat and donations, with a mission to provide assistance and support to the needy people in our community. Bali Memorial Trust has been working for the last 25 years in the following areas:

Education

Our organization is committed to empowering underserved communities through accessible, high-quality education. We currently operate two matriculation-level schools that provide comprehensive academic instruction along with computer literacy and technical training — completely free of charge. Students are also provided with free textbooks and school uniforms to ensure that financial limitations do not hinder their education. Scholarships and stipends are available for deserving and financially disadvantaged students to support their continued academic success.

Shelter for Girls

A fully operational shelter home for girls in crisis has been serving the community in the Defence Housing Authority area for the past two years. The facility currently accommodates 50 girls and provides safe housing, education, and essential residential care. Due to growing demand, the shelter is presently operating beyond capacity, and construction of an additional shelter facility is already underway to expand support services.

Health Care Services

We are dedicated to improving healthcare access for low-income and vulnerable populations through a wide range of medical and humanitarian initiatives, including:

  • Two gynecology hospitals providing free and subsidized treatment and surgical services for underprivileged women.
  • Twenty-three free dispensaries operating in low-income areas of Lahore, collectively treating approximately 2,000 patients every day.
  • Successful completion of 325 free corneal transplant surgeries, restoring vision to blind patients at no cost.
  • Collaboration with the Government of Punjab to support tuberculosis (T.B.) treatment programs at multiple healthcare centers in Lahore.
  • Limb replacement services and rehabilitation support for persons with disabilities.
  • Provision of free and subsidized medical treatment, including surgeries, hepatitis care, and tuberculosis treatment for financially needy patients at various hospitals.

Floods & Earthquake Relief and Rehabilitation

Our organization has played a major role in disaster relief and rehabilitation efforts across Pakistan:

  • Following the 2005 earthquake, a 135-bed hospital was established and managed in Islamabad to provide emergency medical care.
  • Food supplies, tents, bedding, clothing, and other essential items were distributed to affected families.
  • In partnership with other NGOs, a paraplegic rehabilitation center was established in Lahore for female earthquake survivors suffering from paralysis.
  • From October 2005 to April 2006, more than 2,500 affected families received continuous support.
  • Assisted in the construction of 747 homes in the village of Sialkot near Thandiani.
  • Dispatched 73 truckloads of medicines, tents, bedding, clothing, and relief supplies to disaster-affected regions.
  • Provided substantial relief assistance to victims of the 2008 Baluchistan earthquake, including 22 truckloads of food, medicine, bedding, and emergency supplies.
  • Constructed 150 homes in Ziarat in collaboration with UN-HABITAT.

Support for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) & Victims of Terrorism

During the 2009 IDP crisis, we actively supported displaced families and victims of terrorism through humanitarian and medical assistance initiatives:

  • Adopted nine school camps and host-family support centers in Mardan to assist displaced communities.
  • Donated six ambulances to address the emergency medical needs of internally displaced persons.
  • Provided financial and humanitarian support to families affected by the FIA building blast in Lahore in 2008.
